March 12, 2013 | Telepresence Options

Minneapolis, Minnesota (PRWEB) March 12, 2013 - The Visual Communications Industry Group will host industry experts and end users exploring the impact of BYOD on organizations' communications and collaboration strategies. This session is produced by the VCI-Group Education Committee and will be a live videoconferencing interactive and streaming event. Registration is free to VCI-Group members and guests

This VCI-G Live! event will include industry experts Donald Gunn, Program Manger for Content Collaboration Mobility services-Cisco; Nick Chong, Head of Product Marketing-Zoom, and Elaine Shuck, Program Director Solution Marketing Education-Polycom. Joining Polycom, Cisco and Zoom, will be consultant Andy Howard, Founder and Managing Director of Howard and Associates, and end user Vic Tiamsic, UC Architect North Shore-LIJ Health Systems. The session will be moderated by industry veteran JD Vaughn and will explore questions like: "What security issues should I be concerned about with BYOD? How will it impact my network? What devices should I allow in my environment and which ones should I block? How does BYOD fit into my UC strategy? And how can I effectively Manage BYOD behavior in my organization?"

The VCI-G Live! session will begin at 1:00 PM EST, will last one hour and will be recorded for future delivery as well.

"We know our user members are facing a lot of pressure to open up their video conferences and content sharing meetings to any device or end point," said Toni Alonso, VCI-G President. "And we also know that many of our user members and our Alliance members have experience, suggestions and solutions to help our user members address their own BYOD issues. This is what our March 28th session is all about; helping our users prepare and plan for the BYOD tsunami. Analysts tell us that our industry is going to grow from 26-27 million end points to 20 billion end points over the next 7 years. If that is close to being accurate, our members need to get ready for the next wave."
