Projectiondesign Announces Panoramic Version of F35 Platform

November 8, 2012 | Telepresence Options
projectiondesign has unveiled what it is calling a panoramic projector. The device is designed to create a very wide format image workspace without the need for edge blending.

The 2.7 megapixel device is based on the company's F35 platform and features a resolution of 2560x1080 which equates to a 21:9 aspect ratio. It delivers 7,000 lumens from the single-chip DLP engine. Projectiondesign claims that in an office environment of average ceiling height this means a projected image four metres wide can be created without the need for edge blending or the use of two separate projectors.

The company believes the product can replace the use of two 4:3 aspect ratio devices together in applications such as video conferencing, or document sharing and collaboration with a single device whilst offering lower total cost of ownership and set up times.

The F35 panorama features dual-link DVI inputs as well as 2 x HDMI, 2 x VGA, video, sync I/O, TCP/IP connectivity and RS-232 control. In addition there is the option to include projectiondesign's recently announced X-PORT modules.

Onboard processing functionality enables two sources to be displayed side-by side or for a single image input to be automatically centred on the screen without the need for any user input.
