Telepresence Options is the Lab's
annual multi-media survey of Telepresence Systems, Telepresence
Managed Service Providers, Telepresence Sub-Systems/Peripherals, and
Inter-networking Telepresence.
The survey is a project of the Human Productivity Lab, an independent research firm and consultancy that follows the emerging telepresence industry. Telepresence Options is a follow up to the Lab's 2006/2007 paper on the technologies of telepresence and the emerging telepresence industry: Telepresence, Effective Visual Collaboration, and the Future of Global Business at the Speed of Light. The paper was and remains the most comprehensive and widely-read paper on the subject of telepresence conferencing.
Picking up where the 2006/2007 paper left off, Telepresence Options 2008 covers the leading companies, solutions, and technologies behind the communications revolution that is telepresence conferencing.

and effective visual collaboration industries. Prior to founding Human Productivity Lab in 2005, Mr. Lichtman was the Vice President of Business Development at TeleSuite, the world's first commercially successful telepresence provider and an innovator in visual collaboration.
Mr. Lichtman is also the author of Telepresence, Effective Visual Collaboration and the Future of Global Business at the Speed of Light (2006) on the emerging telepresence industry and was a contributing author to Emerging Technologies for Teleconferencing and Telepresence (2005). Mr. Lichtman is a frequent commentator on telepresence, videoconferencing and effective visual collaboration and his writings on and analysis of the industry have been featured by Reuters, Pro AV Magazine, CXO Magazine, Killer App Magazine, and CFO Magazine among others.
Prior to TeleSuite, Mr. Lichtman was a founder, President, and Chief Product Officer at Powwow Networks a visual collaboration start up looking to improve the human factors, effectiveness, reliability, and cost of both visual and data collaboration. Before he developed his interest in telepresence and visual collaboration, Mr. Lichtman started and ran the financial vertical sales organization at Savvis Communications which specialized in managed networking and managed service solutions for trading floor technology and market data applications for Wall Street.
Peter Brockmann - Associate
Analyst
Peter Brockmann is a seasoned technology analyst with experience in business development, product marketing,

competitive analysis, branding and Internet marketing. His career has spanned executive roles at 3Com, Nortel, startups in mobile VoIP and business process automation, enterprise middleware companies and application service providers. Particular technologies of interest include telepresence, email integrity, unified communications and enterprise mobility.
Today, Brockmann is the President of Brockmann & Company (http://www.brockmann.com), a high tech research and marketing consulting company. Clients are able to accelerate their growth through thought leadership and insight into markets, channels and positioning.
Prior to 2001, Brockmann, held various executive, product marketing, and business development positions at Nortel in customer relationship management software, enterprise data products, and enterprise telephony businesses. In 1998 he served as an expert witness before the United States Department of Justice and the European Commission during inquiries into the Nortel's acquisition of Bay Networks. A frequent writer and presenter on issues in communications and business technologies, Brockmann offers unique insights into how communications and computing technologies change business and change our lives.
Brockmann is a frequent Wikipedia contributor, a past-member of the Microsoft Mobile Partners Advisory Council and a recent participant in the Intel Software Strategies Summit. Brockmann holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science from the University of Western Ontario in London Canada and a Master of Business Administration from McMaster University in Hamilton Canada.
