Lifesize Cloud Amplify Gives Everyone in the Company their own YouTube Channel

July 22, 2015 | Howard Lichtman

LifeSize_Cloud_Amplify.jpgLifesize, the videoconferencing division of Logitech, has been deftly transforming into one of the leading providers of cloud-based video calling from its traditional hardware-based videoconferencing roots. The company flexed their continually developing cloud muscles this week and rolled out Lifesize Cloud Amplify, a cloud-based recording tool that allows anyone in an organization to record video and videoconferences from any device and immediately upload the content to their own "YouTube channel" with the ability to control who can watch, share, and comment.

Cloud Amplify will be an option for anyone using Lifesize Cloud. Annual subscription plans start at $4,000 a year for unlimited recordings and a 15-hour video library. Current and prospective Lifesize Cloud customers can get a free trial and the service is available globally starting July 21st.

This capability is illustrative of the benefits that Lifesize is reaping from their move to cloud-based services from what had been a traditional hardware-based videoconferencing platform. Now Lifesize offers both on-premise and cloud-based solutions and is one of a handful of cloud video vendors with cloud services, infrastructure and end-points. Being able to turn on next-generation capabilities like the ability to record from any device and upload to a controlled distribution platform demonstrates the power of the approach.

Here are some slides on Cloud Amplify from the Lifesize deck:
