Videxio Announces Full Interop with Microsoft Skype and Skype for Business on their Cloud Video Service
Response to the rapid growth in traffic fuelled by these user communities. Full demo at Booth 1585, Infocomm 2015, June 17th - 19th 2015
Oslo, Norway, 9th June, 2015 - Videxio, a leading cloud video service provider, today announced new features that extend the interoperability of their service and will especially benefit Microsoft Skype for Business users. The Skype for Business community represents the fastest growing group of users on the Videxio service. The new features will allow this group to enjoy two-way content sharing, as well as the ability to call from traditional Skype into Videxio hosted conferences. Through Videxio Labs, Videxio's innovation incubator, Videxio has also enabled traditional Cisco and Polycom video systems hosted on the service to be able to place and receive calls directly from Microsoft Lync and Skype for Business.
"Enabling users to seamlessly join and collaborate in video meetings across various technologies and devices such as Skype for Business, standards-based videoconferencing systems, browser based video and audio has been the key to unlocking the accelerated growth we are realizing on the Videxio service," commented Videxio CEO, Tom-Erik Lia.
The volume of Skype for Business users connecting with 3rd party video devices, browsers and voice participants in Videxio powered conferences has increased by a factor of 10 over the last year and now accounts for 27% of traffic. Videxio sees this significant growth as a clear validation of the importance of breaking down interoperability challenges. With full interoperability, Skype for Business users are able to communicate more effectively with contacts outside their own organization, allowing them to effectively leverage their existing investments and extend the lifetime of their chosen solutions.
"Interoperability is a checkmark item for users of cloud videoconferencing solutions. Large, medium, or small, any business today requires a solution that works well with their pre-existing tools, as well as the tools of their partners and customers. Unless they want to talk only to themselves, videoconferencing users should be looking at truly interoperable cloud services," said David Maldow, Founder & CEO of Let's Do Video.
Visit Booth 1585, Infocomm 2015 in Orlando, June 17th - 19th 2015, for a full demonstration of the Videxio service.
