Videxio reports 200% growth
Explosive increase in usage fueled by Microsoft Lync participants
Oslo, Norway, 12th March, 2015 - Videxio, a leading cloud video service provider, today declared that they are continuing to enjoy explosive growth in usage across their global service. Users on the Videxio service are now participating in meetings in more than 150 countries. Usage is up over 200% over the last six months.
"We see the continued usage and adoption on the Videxio service as a testament to the importance of providing a global, secure business quality service," reflected Tom-Erik Lia, CEO of Videxio. "Interestingly, while the use of browsers (WebRTC) on our service is showing healthy increase, it is the Microsoft Lync community that is fueling the largest growth. The volume of Lync users connecting with 3rd party video devices, browsers and voice participants in Videxio powered conferences has increased by a factor of 10 over the last year, and now represents about a quarter of the usage across our service."
The growth in usage on the Videxio service is reflected in the market for cloud videoconferencing in general. According to a recently released report from industry analysts TechNavio, the global cloud-based videoconferencing market is expected to grow at an annual rate of 39% from 2014-2019 as a result of videoconferencing-as-a-service being more convenient and cost-effective than on premise solutions. "Vendors are providing more scalable and manageable cloud-based video conferencing solutions, which also offer better value-for-money by integrating real-time and non-real-time communications," said Faisal Ghaus, Vice President of TechNavio.
