HD Cloud Video Conferencing Service from HGC minimises CAPEX outlay on hardware
Hong Kong, 16 September 2014 - Hutchison Global Communications Limited (HGC), the fixed-line division of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (stock code: 215), today announced collaboration with UCi2i, a leading UK video conferencing management service provider. The result is launch of a cloud-based video conferencing service enabling enterprises to reap the benefits of a corporate-grade HD multi-point video conferencing system, while minimising CAPEX outlay on hardware.
Secure and reliable service supports a variety of devices
The service is compatible with H.323-based video conferencing equipment from a variety of vendors, as well as with Session Initiation Protocol-based devices such as PCs, Macs and iPads. Video data transmission is encrypted according to the 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard, while password protection ensures security for virtual conference rooms.
Customers are able to enjoy smooth video conferencing between Southeast Asia, Europe and Africa, thanks to a private Multi-Protocol Label Switching link connecting Hong Kong and London.
Simple monthly service plans plus user-friendly management portal
Corporate customers can choose a simple monthly plan and optional services according to business need. The capital outlay on hardware normally associated with running an HD multi-point video conferencing capability is minimised, along with maintenance costs. What's more, the easy-to-use V-Control user portal enables customers to manage a number of virtual meeting rooms at the same time, while the V-Book personal management portal stores video conference contacts.
Full technical support and optional services provide the utmost convenience
HGC Cloud Video Conferencing comes complete with comprehensive service support, providing the utmost convenience for customers. The optional Concierge Service takes the pain out of arranging a video conference, while the Endpoint Assist option checks user devices remotely, before a video conference starts, to ensure smooth delivery of video images.
HTHKH Chief Operating Officer Jennifer Tan said: "We are delighted to collaborate with UCi2i to empower our business customers with a truly lifelike HD video conferencing experience. This promotes environmental conservation by removing the need for executives to travel, saving significant time and expense, while reducing carbon emission. It also minimises CAPEX outlay on hardware, and reduces the running costs normally associated with technical oversight of video conferencing sessions and ongoing maintenance."
