Can you see me now? Verizon's futuristic video conferencing room (Video)
Verizon Communications Inc. is moving its 500 workers into its sparkling new $50 million operations hub in Lake Mary, and continuing to add to those ranks with available accounting, finance and information technology positions.
The New York-based telecom giant (NYSE: VZ) offers plenty of perks to workers in the building, ranging from an in-house cafe to a fitness center, but there's a very cool futuristic video conferencing room, too: the Lake Mary TelePresence Room.
Verizon group manager Lou Teixeira gave Orlando Business Journal a test run of how the video conferencing system works by calling a colleague, Elaine Chang, in the firm's Waltham, Mass. office -- which you can see in the video. Texeira also called Dave Roth in Verizon's Tulsa, Okla. office.
