Remote controlled robots to mingle at 2014 BAFTAs
Two 'fanbot' robots will be present at this year's BAFTAs to allow fans to chat with stars on the red carpet from the comfort of home using new telepresence technology.
Selected film fans will be able to control the robots and ask the stars questions using EE 4G video calling technology.
The unique robots, which look like skinny Segways with iPads attached, offer the chance to get close to the actions while simultaneously trialing the new technology from EE.
The fanbots were made in the US by Double Robotics and use a self-balancing wheel and height adjustable tablet display to offer viewers a unique VIP view.
