'Minority Report' technology is real and it's here (and it's cool)
If you ever saw the technology in "Minority Report" and thought it could really do wonders to liven up your PowerPoint presentations, you're in luck.
Oblong Industries Inc., the Los Angeles-based company that built the panoramic display technology that played a key role alongside Tom Cruise in the 2002 movie, recently opened a Chicago showroom in River North.
The technology goes way beyond videoconferencing, incorporating all sorts of additional stuff -- maps, charts, photos, videos, spreadsheets, PDFs -- into the conversation.
