Double Teleconferencing Robot Now Available via Online Apple Store
SUNNYVALE - November 12, 2013 - Double Robotics, Inc. today announced its
groundbreaking Double teleconferencing robot will be available for immediate delivery
when purchased directly from the Online Apple Store.
"We are thrilled to make Double available to our customers alongside other world-class
products on the Online Apple Store," said David Cann, co-founder and CEO of Double
Robotics, Inc. "Our team at Double strives to make products of the highest quality and
deliver the best possible user experience. Through the Online Apple Store, Double will
delight a whole new audience of discerning customers."
Double, the brainchild of David Cann and Marc DeVidts, is a remotely controlled, mobile
teleconferencing system that enables conversations to happen anytime and anywhere
in the world. Traditional videoconferencing relies on scheduling meetings and a
physical body manually setting up a laptop on the remote communicator's behalf.
Having your own Double in the office means you are free to roam around anywhere
without needing to schedule a meeting. Double leverages the power of an iPad for
video conferencing, combined with a mobile base that puts the remote worker in control.
Your Double is always on, ready to take you anywhere you need to go.
The Double Robotics, Inc. team began shipping to customers in May 2013. Since then,
the company has seen over $2 million in sales and has shipped units throughout the
US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. Double is designed and hand-assembled in
California at the company's headquarters.
Double is part of the Apple Made for iPad Program and is compatible with iPad 2, iPad
(3rd generation), iPad (4th generation), and soon, iPad Air. Double is sold through the
Online Apple Store for $2,499.95 starting today.
