New startups Acano and Pexip set to disrupt the video conferencing industry
Both companies select Video Guidance as a strategic conferencing partner
Video Guidance today announced that it has been selected by Pexip, a new video conferencing software company, to become a strategic conferencing channel partner. Pexip is a cloud-based conferencing software solution that provides personal meeting rooms for any number of users on video, voice and mobile.
Earlier this month, Video Guidance was selected by Acano, another newly formed collaboration technology company, to be its strategic conferencing partner. Acano's new platform unites previously incompatible audio, video and web technologies in virtual team rooms.
These two spinoff companies are about to disrupt and change the video conferencing industry. While they have similar platforms, their different methodologies offer new unprecedented solutions for video conferencing on all devices. Selecting Video Guidance to become a partner of both companies, further strengthens Video Guidance's position as the largest video conferencing company in the upper Midwest marketplace.
Today's workforces are becoming more mobile and the number of communication options is growing. Yet most people are still required to conform to one communication technology and exclude key people from discussions - impacting effectiveness and the pace of innovation.
Acano's virtual team rooms, called "coSpacesTM", make teamwork and the exchange of ideas second nature for even the most mobile and distributed groups. coSpaces simply aim to bring together various technologies into one 'room.'
With a click of a button and without pre scheduling required, people can join coSpaces using a phone, a tablet, a computer, a video system. With one user experience across all devices, a coSpace user can seamlessly switch between devices while on a call, for example, from a phone for privacy, or to an iPad for video or a presentation.
coSpaces integrate with Microsoft Lync, making calling video and telepresence systems simple. Also, if people are needed in a meeting that are outside an organization, they can be added through an email invitation. Enabled by WebRTC and Flash, this capability opens up business-to-business and business-to-consumer opportunities. Applications are limitless and range from medical specialists seeing patients, to financial managers meeting clients.
"The team at Video Guidanceis at the forefront of adopting new technologies to best serve the growing needs of their clients," said Larry Satterfield, Acano's global vice president of sales.
"We chose Video Guidance as our partner because of their experience andskill at deploying infrastructure and their strong managed service offering -- an incredibly wide range of client organizations will be able to experience Acano."
Pexip's software platform can be deployed easily and quickly with the flexibility to scale as needed. Conference participants have a consistent interface from which they can control conferences and view presentations, all from their own personal device. Pexip Infinity is scalable across geographies and size and is controlled from a simple user interface.
Unlike traditional hardware architectures, the software-only Pexip Infinity can be quickly deployed remotely at two or more virtual machines. The single file software foundation means that new features and technologies, such as H.265, SVC and WebRTC, will be made available in real-time to a business's global data center through on-going software upgrades. Its virtualized conferencing platform is able to work on any existing base of business video endpoints as well as with software-based clients like Microsoft Lync.
In addition,Pexip's mobile App allows participants to view a list of all the participants on the call. They can also view the presentation on their own personal device -- while still seeing the conferenceparticipants on the main screen -- and zoom in on the presentation, among other key features.
"Video Guidance is highly regarded for featuring the next generation of technology in an ever-changing industry," said Simen Teigre, chief executive officer and co-founder of Pexip. "Its reputation for providing the very best personalized solutions for its clients is why Video Guidance is a perfect partner for Pexip."
Video Guidance, an independent, strategicvisual communicationsprovider, customizes state-of-the-art products, services and solutions from the world's finest manufacturers. The company is regarded for featuring the next generation of technology in an ever-changing industry.
"Today, video is pervasive and is used as a primary communications tool on virtually any kind of device, "said Michael Werch, founder and president of Video Guidance. "Our partnerships with both Acano and Pexip help to maximize our resources so we can offer more comprehensive collaboration and visual services to businesses and organizations."
Strategic partners help Video Guidance - through its cloud-based services -- create a more visually collaborative workspace for its customers. In the last decade, Internet, mobile and broadband technologies have redefined our way of life, and visual communication tools have become critical to a business' efficiencies. And in an era of dispersed teams and reduced travel budgets, enhanced, strategic collaboration and applications are essential to maximizing the benefits of today's sophisticated technology.
