Acano to Benefit from Ubon Partners' Operational and Strategic Competence and Successful Track Record
Acano today announced thatUbon Partners, a technology and growth investment company, has taken the lead investment in the company. Ubon Partners has appointed one of its partners, OJ Winge, as Chief Executive Officer and will hold two Board positions at Acano.
Ubon Partners is a private investment company that combines the broad strategic and deep operational insights of an experienced industry participant. Ubon Partners takes significant stake in companies that make a difference and where it can accelerate growth through access to talent, sales networks and commercial models.
Acano unites previously incompatible audio, video and web technologies in coSpaces - virtual meeting rooms that reimagine collaboration. People can use whatever devices they have to call into a coSpace, including mobile phones, tablets, PCs, Microsoft Lync clients or video endpoints.
"We're fortunate to have the talent and experience of Ubon Partners to move our company forward," said Mark Blake, Chief Technology Officer. "The Partners have a successful track record of transforming not only companies, but the markets where they operate. In addition, OJ is a visionary leader in user experience and product innovation, which are key areas of focus for Acano."
"The Acano team is delivering a fresh perspective on bringing people and ideas together with coSpaces, which blend the experience of the physical world of team rooms with voice, video and web technologies," said Winge. "Ubon Partners is a proponent of openness, and this innovative approach breaks down silos while being complementary to existing technologies.
"As Ubon Partners considered investment opportunities, Acano's team and technology were impressive. Most compelling was the passion for building great customer experiences. We are very pleased to help build this extraordinary company," Winge concluded.
Winge, a partner with Ubon Partners, has a successful track record leading high growth technology companies. He was previously the Cisco senior vice president responsible for the more than $4b collaboration business. Winge joined Cisco via the acquisition of Tandberg.
Acano is currently in trials with Fortune 500 companies. The Acano team will bedemonstrating coSpaces at InfoCommJune 12-14 in Orlando, Florida.
