Role-Playing Games And Video Conferencing
It was a match made in geek heaven - I set my husband and his crew up to playDungeons & Dragons(D&D) usingGoToMeeting with HDFaces video conferencing. Role-playing plus HD video plus screen sharing equals pure geek fun. Talk about usingvideo conferencing for hobbies!
I am the best wife ever.
How it got started
One night a couple years back, my husband asked if I thought it would be fun to play D&D with some of his friends and siblings. "Sure, what's the harm in one night of geekiness?" I thought. So I agreed.
The next thing I knew, every Sunday night my living room was filled with miniature warriors, dragons and assorted monsters. And a big dry erase map. And lots of manuals. And more dice than any crap shooter could ever want or need. And snacks. Lots of snacks.
For several months I played along as the cleric, but they got tired of waking me up every time someone needed healing. So I opted out and made Sunday my personal movie night while the group continued to happily play its way through imaginary tunnels, forests, taverns, castles and the occasional gelatinous cube.
