ReadyTalk Adds Video Conferencing to Suite of Services

April 10, 2013 | Telepresence Options

ReadyTalk today announced the addition of high qualityvideo conferencingto the company's suite of technology services, which includes audio conferencing, web conferencing, webinars and web events. The addition ofvideo conferencingenables customers to host more collaborative and productive meetings and training sessions.

Usingvideo conferencingduring virtual meetings allows companies to:

  • Increase engagement among meeting participants
  • See and share non-verbal cues
  • Improve personal interaction between remote colleagues

Recent research from Wainhouse Research indicates that companies are recognizing the value ofvideo conferencingin day-to-day activities.

"When it comes tovideo conferencing, several factors are aligning: laptops and mobile devices have become video-ready, Internet bandwidth has become available, and now leading-edge web conferencing offerings, such as ReadyTalk's, are adding high performancevideo conferencingas an easy-to-use feature to their web conferencing services," said Andy Nilssen, Senior Analyst and Partner at Wainhouse Research.

In a recent Wainhouse Research WebMetrics survey, 70 percent of those that usevideo conferencingin their web conferences indicate that video increases the "connectedness" between web conferencing participants and 62 percent like to see the reactions to their presentation or ideas. "I work in a remote office, but I love being able to connect face-to-face with my colleagues. The ability to gauge reactions is so much easier with video andReadyTalkallows me to do that on all my meetings," said Brandon Stamschror, senior director of operations at MECLABS.

Beginning today, customers can incorporatevideo conferencinginto their daily meetings, training sessions and interviews. The service offers intuitive controls to start video conferences directly from a ReadyTalk web conference. The technology is entirely web based so no additional downloads are required for participants or meeting hosts. As many as 25 participants can view four simultaneous feeds. In addition, meeting hosts retain the ability to:

  • Share slides, specific applications, or their entire desktop
  • Highlight key points with annotation tools
  • Promote meeting attendees to co-presenter status
  • Start meetings quickly from the web, desktop or Microsoft Outlook
  • Let colleagues edit documents by granting control of desktop or applications (and vice versa)

"Our goal to make it easier for customers to conduct remote meetings, interview potential employees and host small training sessions," said Paul Carollo, product strategist at ReadyTalk. "The ability to see someone's facial expressions and body language significantly improves the level of engagement and the effectiveness of the meeting."

Video conferencingis free and available for all ReadyTalk web conferencing or webinar customers. Learn more ongetting started with ReadyTalk video conferencing.
