InFocus Introduces RealCam High-Definition Pan/Tilt/Zoom Camera Solution
Product Adds Professional HD Video Conferencing Quality and Control to any PC via USB, Including the Mondopad
PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - Apr 23, 2013) - InFocus Corp., an industry leader in digital display technology, recently unveiled its RealCam, a PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) camera with powerful performance capabilities paired with an InFocus-exclusive DVI-to-USB converter that allows the camera to be used with any PC with a USB port.
The InFocus RealCam provides a true HD video experience with the ability for users to pan, tilt and zoom interactively with the included remote control. This eliminates cumbersome manual adjustments that can cause frustrating and wasteful interruptions during videoconferences. The RealCam's six position presets also allow users to instantly choose from a range of common camera angles, zooms and settings.
"There are a lot of high-end PTZ cameras on the market, but RealCam is the only one that gets everything right," said Dave Duncan, product marketing manager at InFocus. "Other manufacturers tend to make sacrifices in quality to add functionality, but RealCam delivers the perfect combination of high-quality video with precise motorized adjustments. It automatically adjusts its video settings to the lighting in the room, allowing users to find the exact settings that work for any specific purpose."
RealCam's direct drive motor mechanism is responsive, smooth and silent, permitting users to make adjustments quickly and precisely without distracting from the content of the presentation. The video quality is a full 1080p, which offers the clearest picture without the appearance of digitization or distortion. RealCam's white balance, gain and shutter speed can all be changed manually or automatically through feedback from the camera's internal sensors.
An essential part of the RealCam solution is its exclusive InFocus adapter, which converts the HD video signal from its DVI source to USB. This means no driver or special video card is required to see the video stream on the PC -- the converter does it all. It's a true plug-and-play DVI-to-USB video solution that is rare in today's market.
Users can leverage RealCam with most displays, including the InFocus Mondopad, a 55-inch smart tablet that is revolutionizing the way companies are approaching presentations and videoconferencing. Featuring a multi-touch interface and a powerful internal operating system, Mondopad is the future of business presentation. RealCam works seamlessly with the device, with simple position adjustment and crisp images that are perfect for the Mondopad's large-format display.
"Pairing Mondopad with the RealCam presents the best of both worlds," said Duncan. "To get the most out of a digital display, your source has to be up to the challenge. RealCam's 1080p video capture delivers the clarity and detail you need on a large-format display like the Mondopad."
An optional webcam shelf also allows RealCam to be mounted to a Mondopad cart, allowing both to be safely transported as a single unit. The device is also compatible with MS Lync, Adobe Connect, Citrix GoToMeeting, LifeSize ClearSea, Avistar C3, Cisco Jabber, Skype, Polycom Real Presence Desktop, Radvision Scopia Desktop and Google Hangout.
In addition, the RealCam integrates seamlessly with InFocus's recently released BigTouch all-in-one, 55-inch touchscreen PC.
