Today, Videxio announces support for Microsoft Lync and the ability to combine Lync with standards based video conferencing endpoints, personal/mobile clients and high quality virtual meeting rooms. This offers maximum employee flexibility and allows customers to attend meetings with high quality audio and video from their Microsoft Lync software client.
This means that existing and new customers can use a range of endpoints, personal client, and virtual meeting rooms and combine this with their exiting deployment of Lync, without the need to invest in their own infrastructure or Microsoft Lync gateways.
"Videoconferencing is entering the mainstream for enterprise communications at the personal and mobile level, and Microsoft Lync will certainly be one of the dominant players," claims Andrew W. Davis, senior partner and cofounder of Wainhouse Research.
"Information workers and enterprises in general will be looking for self-service, cloud VaaS offerings like Videxio that support both personal and room videoconferencing devices with anywhere, anytime, any-device calling capabilities. Lync support is an important addition to the Videxio service."
Tom Erik Lia, CEO of Videxio says, "Video and collaboration have been the growth engines for unified communications, and we see that cloud based access will be the vehicle for further growth, by making these solutions available to a wider range of organizations and end users. Our strategy is to provide the best video experience - independent of what solutions the customers already are using. Enable interoperability between Microsoft Lync and professional video conferencing is an important step towards addressing the unified-communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) market. This is a market that alone is expected to be worth $1.9 billion in 2012, up a healthy 15.8 percent over the previous year, according to research firm Frost & Sullivan"
With the interoperability between Microsoft Lync and the Videxio video as a service offering, a Microsoft Lync user can join conferences directly using his Lync client and communicate over video with other standards based video endpoints, software clients or mobile devices. The interoperability with Microsoft Lync 2010 and Lync Online (Office 365) are available immediately for customers and partners of Videxio in selected regions.
