VideoCentric, one of the UK's leading and most experienced visual communication integrators, has developed the VideoCloud portfolio, a range of self-managed, part-managed and fully-managed video services to enable organisations worldwide the ability to easily meet with professional colleagues, home workers and mobile users without the need for purchasing any video infrastructure of their own.
With standards-based H.323 & SIP interoperability and support for virtually all devices, including immersive, room and desktop telepresence, PC and Mac software clients, iPad tablets, Smartphones, OCS, Lync, Skype, Google, ISDN telephony and SMARTBoards, this comprehensive portfolio demonstrates VideoCentric has not just focused on a single video conferencing service, but has developed a whole range of services for nearly every communication need. Services include Virtual Room Multipoint services for up to 4, 9 or 25 participants, network traversal and transcoding services to ensure everyone is accessible, no matter what network or system they are using, two-way data collaboration services and concierge services offering multi-lingual, 24x7 support in local time zones around the world.
"We have listened to our customers, researched requirements, created the partnerships and developed the VideoCloud which we now believe to be the most comprehensive set of cloud video service available anywhere in the world today," David Shimell, Managing Director explains. "VideoCentric first launched its cloud based video services back in June 2008 and this experience has shown us what customers really need from a VaaS provider. We have evolved our portfolio over the last 4.5 years, embracing best-in-class partners where we have not been able to beat them and adding our own value where they were lacking."
Craig Brown, Technical Director for VideoCentric added, "With one of the most highly trained technical teams in the industry, accreditations with all the leading manufacturers and our award winning customer service, we have now made video conferencing available to anyone, anywhere and at anytime. Our wealth of knowledge in the video conferencing, network infrastructure and telecommunications industries has allowed us to offer a unique and in-depth service portfolio unlike any other."
The VideoCloud portfolio currently comprises 12 specific services and options, but has the ability to be adapted on a per customer basis, so that a "hybrid" cloud can be built to meet a specific set of requirements. Dependent upon the level of self-administration required, VideoCloud Services are supplied as self, part or fully managed services, and flexible subscription offerings mean that customers can commit to annual, quarterly or Pay-As-You-Go terms. A range of specialised services are also available, enabling even those who have already previously invested in their own video infrastructure, the ability to "extend in to the cloud" taking advantage of the VideoCloud's additional features, security and public/social network benefits.
Emily Shimell, Communications Manager said, "As a trusted visual communications integrator working with each of the worlds' leading manufacturers we can help new and existing customers decide on the best route forward for them, whether this be conferencing in the cloud, an on-premise solution or a hybrid of both - our unbiased approach due to our partnerships means that our customers come first and the right solution will always be found."
The VideoCloud has been designed, developed, integrated and tested in the UK's most comprehensive interoperability testing suite in the heart of the Thames Valley, which has recently been extended to provide live demonstrations of desktop and cloud services running on a wide variety of platforms. Service resilience is provided by equipment and bandwidth located in 3 separate data centres in the UK and 2 overseas, and dedicated staff are available to administer and support the service in-house.
