Whitlock's CEO is recognized in Virginia for strong leadership and entrepreneurial success
Richmond, VA (PRWEB via virtual-strategy.com) June 18, 2012
Whitlock, a global AV solutions provider, announces that Doug Hall, the company's CEO, has been selected as a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year(R) 2012 Award for the Greater Washington DC region. The award recognizes leaders from across Virginia and into the surrounding Maryland region who have "demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment."
Doug Hall is one of only a few Richmond-based finalists in this year's competition. Whitlock has its headquarters in Richmond, but the company does a great deal of business in the Northern Virginia/DC markets, as well as across the U.S. The company is opening up a new office in the coming months in Ashburn, VA, where they already have a number of local employees.
A majority of the businesses in the top spots for this award are in technology or consulting fields for the government and healthcare sectors. Whitlock provides solutions to these verticals, but stands out among the rest as the only AV company to make the list.
Doug Hall has more than 27 years of experience in entrepreneurial business management, 17 of which have been with Whitlock. He has been integral in the development of the culture and organic growth since joining the company in 1995. In his role as CEO, Doug has become a trusted confidant, friend and partner to the company's chairman and founder, John Whitlock. As John states, "Doug has demonstrated the unique ability to maintain a caring family style corporate culture while growing the company into a national powerhouse, always keeping a watchful eye on financial performance."
With Doug at the helm, Whitlock has experienced steady growth, even during difficult economic times. Doug has helped to morph the company from a niche regional player into a full service global AV solutions provider, delivering AV and managed services to an impressive list of Fortune 1000 companies.
Whitlock's key offerings include Audio Visual Systems Integration, Enterprise Standards, Unified Communications, Telepresence/Videoconferencing, Digital Media, Visualization/Simulation and a full array of Managed Services, ranging from AVNOC and remote support to onsite staffing to virtual cloud-based services. Whitlock differentiates itself in the industry by also providing 24/7 support for AV assets across the enterprise, with a presence in all major global hubs in the Americas, EMEA and APAC.
The Entrepreneur of the Year Award winners will be announced on Thursday, June 21st at a gala event in Tysons Corner, Virginia.
