Applied Global Technologies Unveils EncoreB2B
May 8, 2012 | Hogan Keyser
Rockledge, Fla. May 08, 2012 -- Applied Global Technologies (AGT), the leading managed services and Unified Communications technology provider for interactive and mobile video conferencing solutions, today reveals EncoreB2B, a new mobile video platform addressing today's mobility challenges in business-to-business communications. EncoreB2B (formerly ENCORE) optimizes existing Cisco, Polycom and Compunetix infrastructure and enables secure B2B connectivity with the platform's exclusive Mobile Pathway Protocol, the industry's first firewall traversal that does not require special firewall devices, system registration or IT configuration.
According to Gartner's report titled "Why Reach Is the New Quality in Enterprise Video, April 2012," one-third of all anticipated video use cases involve external participants, up from less than 5 percent in 2010. Robert Mason, managing vice president at Gartner, reports "As enterprises add video to their communications suites, the use cases they envision are less and less about the group meeting experience inside the enterprise as they are about the ability to create dialogs with external participants."
The EncoreB2B Platform
The EncoreB2B Platform attaches to existing Cisco, Polycom and Compunetix infrastructure and resides on the edge of the enterprise network. The platform's Mobile Pathway Protocol leverages already open and secure standard web ports to enable secure connectivity and interoperability between mobile devices and HD video systems, regardless of location or device. Unlike standard H.323/SIP firewall traversal for mobile devices that typically fail when connecting to another network, Mobile Pathway enables the world's easiest video connection between networks.
"Today's standard mobile video solutions work well inside your network, but breakdown in the B2B environment," explains Mike Valletutti, CEO of Applied Global Technologies. "Communication between companies, a critical component of business communications, is rapidly changing with a workforce that expects BYOD and tablets in the enterprise. It is a market that is clearly underserved and EncoreB2B's key differentiator - seamless B2B connectivity - enables workforce mobility."
The EncoreB2B Platform includes a suite of industry-first technology products to optimize existing infrastructure, enable workforce mobility and transform B2B connectivity, including:
- EncoreB2B 25 - Ideal for small to medium size enterprises
- EncoreB2B Enterprise - Ideal for large enterprises
- EncoreB2B Carrier - Ideal for Telcos, managed/cloud providers and high growth large enterprises
Dedicated to providing its clients scalable mobile video conferencing while reducing operational costs and maximizing revenue, AGT delivers the EncoreB2B Platform in three, flexible packages: 1) a gateway device that attaches to an existing MCU, 2) a client premise-based Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) architecture, or 3) hosted via the cloud.
