March 13, 2012 | Hogan Keyser
SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 12, 2012 -- Vidtel Inc. today announced that it's one of four startups awarded to participate in the Innovation Showcase at Enterprise Connect(R), the leading conference and exhibition for enterprise IP Telephony, Converged Networks and Unified Communications in North America. Held March 26-29 at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando, Fla., Enterprise Connect brings corporate IT decision-makers together with the industry's vendors, analysts and consultants to focus on the issues central to enterprise networks and communications.
Vidtel provides cloud-based any-to-any video conferencing that ties together enterprise and consumer video systems. Its MeetMe service enables video conferences between room-based systems, executive desktop video systems, PCs/Macs, smartphones and tablets using any combination of SIP, H.323, Skype and GoogleTalk technologies. By eliminating interoperability problems and the need for dedicated video conferencing infrastructure, MeetMe provides enterprises of every size with an affordable, business-grade solution for implementing video communications throughout their organization, including on smartphones and tablets.
Enterprise Connect's annual Innovation Showcase competition spotlights innovative start-up companies that are revolutionizing enterprise communications and collaboration. Vidtel will present at the conference at 9 a.m. EST on March 28 and will be in the Innovation Showcase booth #1217.
"Video conferencing is a critical component of the UC experience, yet is plagued with interoperability issues, high costs, and complexity," said Dave Michels, CEO of Verge1 and Innovation Showcase organizer and judge. "Vidtel stood out from others in the competition for its range of innovative approaches to solving these problems, including the ability to enable enterprises to establish secure, any-to-any video conferencing while remaining securely behind corporate firewalls."
Vidtel is the pioneer of any-to-any cloud video conferencing services. Its easy-to-use service is the first to bring compatibility between a diverse set of business-grade (e.g., Polycom, Cisco/Tandberg, LifeSize) and consumer-grade video endpoints (Skype and Google Talk). Vidtel enables even small and medium enterprises to affordably experience the productivity of business-quality video conferencing between dispersed employees, partners and customers. Vidtel is located in the heart of Silicon Valley in Sunnyvale, Calif.
