Blue Jeans Network Receives Frost & Sullivan Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award in the CSP Videoconferencing Services Market
February 9, 2012 | Hogan Keyser
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Feb 09, 2012 -- Based on its recent analysis of the CSP-based videoconferencing services market, Frost & Sullivan has awarded Blue Jeans Network with the Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award. As videoconferencing transitions from being a niche, "nice to have" solution to a "must have" technology, it faces a few lingering challenges to widespread adoption that Blue Jeans Network, the leader in interoperable videoconferencing, has positioned itself to solve.
As a cloud-based videoconferencing service that provides seamless interoperability between existing business video conferencing platforms and popular consumer video chat solutions, Blue Jeans Network makes video meetings for the first time, as easy, interoperable and affordable as audio meetings. Since its launch in June 2011, the service has grown rapidly to include participants in over 2000 cities and 200 countries around the world.
Businesses of all sizes and vertical industries are using Blue Jeans Network to expand the reach of videoconferencing beyond conference rooms and telepresence suites to include the many travelers, telecommuters, partners, and customers who prefer to participate using Skype, Microsoft Lync, or Google from their desktop, or mobile device. "The idea is to ease interoperability and accelerate the adoption of videoconferencing," says Ronald Gruia, Principal Telecom Analyst at Frost & Sullivan.
The company has also signed major distribution partners such as Deutsche Telekom (DT), which sells a private-labeled version of the product to its customers in Europe. "By expeditiously ramping up its network and fine tuning its performance to support not only large enterprises but also the provision of white label services to larger operators such as DT, Blue Jeans Network has made its mark as one of the videoconferencing industry's newest entrepreneurial rising stars," added Gruia.
"We're thrilled to be awarded with the Frost & Sullivan Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award," said Krish Ramakrishnan, CEO of Blue Jeans Network. "We believe that our ambitious goal of enabling ubiquitous access to videoconferencing is making major strides toward widespread adoption."
Blue Jeans Network remains committed to further expanding its cloud-based multipoint control unit (MCU) service to support existing and future customers.
Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of markets that have shown exemplary achievements within a variety of industries and functional disciplines. The firm analyzes best practices in order to identify companies, products, processes, and executives that have achieved world-class performances.
