Vidyo's Public Relations and Social Media Guru, Anais Gragueb, joins the Hangout.

Last week Telepresence Options hosted our second monthly Google+ Hangout for videoconferencing professionals. The planned topic for the day was mobile videoconferencing. I was attending the meeting both on my desktop and on my iPhone (see the screenshot above). We were all surprised at the quality of the video both to and from the phone which was much better than expected.  We did have some audio feedback when I used the phone which we were unable to troubleshoot, but the audio was still perfectly usable.

The topic shifted from mobile videoconferencing, to layout preferences for various use applications, to a number of other issues with insightful opinions being offered from all sides. In the video below, Mark Noble from Vidyo and Mike Pihlman from Telbit Consulting answer a great question concerning the need to purchase business videoconferencing solutions, when free offerings like Google+ Hangouts are available. Stay tuned till the end to see Mark test out Google's Christmas Hangout feature.

Be sure to add us to your technology and videoconferencing circles on Google+. You can find us at gplus.to/telepresence where we will be regularly hosting these informal hangouts to discuss current topics in the videoconferencing world with everyone ranging from the most tech savvy insider to the most casual user. We want to thank everyone who stopped by, it was great to see you and fun to take a break from the daily workload to chat about telepresence.  We hope to see you again next time, along with those who haven't yet checked us out. Our next Hangout will be January 19th, when we will be discussing the recent wave of videoconferencing virtualization and cloud related developments.
