September 8, 2011 | Hogan Keyser
Thursday 8 September 2011 | 10:00 CET via Telecompaper.com -- SFR Business Team has won a contract from France's Banque Populaire Caisses d'Epargne (BPCE) to provide telepresence services. Installed at a dozen sites initially, it will eventually be extended to around 50 sites. The Cisco-based telepresence solution will allow BPCE staff to run total immersion meetings with in-house and external counterparts elsewhere. SFR is supplying boardroom-sized telepresence facilities with three screens and single-screened meeting rooms for up to six-people. The telepresence centres will be connected to BPCE's IP VPN. The immersive experience enables true face-to-face interaction, with full-size images of speakers, fluidity of movement, and HD sound and picture. Service supervision and maintenance will be manned 24/7 by SFR Business Team. The operator does not indicate a contract length or financial value.
