FuzeBox Continues Rapid Growth and Adds Seasoned Executives Richard Sanders and Brook West

August 3, 2011 | William Zimmerman
Dealmakers to lead partnerships with enterprises, OEMs, tablet and smart phone manufacturers, all looking to deliver cutting edge mobile video collaboration and cloud-based telepresence solutions to users worldwide

SAN FRANCISCO -  August 2, 2011 -  FuzeBox, the leader in cross-platform visual collaboration, video conferencing and web conferencing, today announces two new hires to support and accelerate its rapid growth.

Richard Sanders, co-founder of Cooley LLP in Boston and voted a "Best Lawyer in America" in technology law from 2009-2011, will be joining the company as President and Chief Legal Officer, while Brook West, a 16-year veteran of sales, management, and business development, will be joining as VP of sales. These key additions are brought on as FuzeBox continues to see rapid customer expansion and looks to further drive its growth through global partnerships, OEM, and device manufacturer deals.

Prior to joining FuzeBox as President and CLO, Richard Sanders co-founded the Boston office of Cooley LLP, a leading, 650-lawyer technology law firm. Prior to that, Mr. Sanders was a partner at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP, a major technology law firm on the east coast. Throughout the years, Mr. Sanders has been a key advisor to many C-level executives and foreign clients in Asia, Europe, Australia and the Americas. His international, IP and technology law experience, will be a critical asset as FuzeBox continues its rapid global expansion and partnering with enterprise customers and device manufacturers.

"FuzeBox has quickly become the leader and category definer in mobile collaboration and I saw this as a great opportunity to apply my deal-making experience to the company, as demand for Fuze Meeting is coming in from across the globe," said Sanders.

FuzeBox has also brought on 16-year technology sales and business development veteran Brook West, to lead its global sales and partnership efforts. Most recently, Ms. West led business development at Jelli, a Battery Ventures and First Round Capital startup, securing the keystone deals that served as catalysts for the company's $7M Series financing. Previously, she worked at Microsoft, directing OEM business development with Microsoft's largest OEM partners. While at Loudeye, Mrs. West led negotiations with major record labels, Fortune 500 companies and global brands that resulted in deals such as the launch of the world's first mobile music service with ATT Wireless.

"I am excited about the vision and the momentum being generated by FuzeBox and I look forward to contributing to the company's growth plans," says West.

"Bringing Fuze Meeting to the world of professionals and business users is as easy as downloading an app," said Jeff Cavins, CEO of FuzeBox. "OEMs, handset manufacturers, carrier operators and major enterprises are interested in new models of product integration, co-marketing and delivering localized visual collaboration solutions that meet the needs of today and tomorrow's business mobile user. Mobile Tablets and LTE networks give users more choice and FuzeBox products are designed to support choice. Richard and Brook join us at the perfect time as we continue to experience growth in both domestic and global markets.

FuzeBox's flagship product, Fuze Meeting, brings cutting edge cloud-based HD video conferencing and collaboration to mobile devices MACs and PCs. The Fuze Meeting iPad app is a top-ranked business and productivity application in the Apple App Store, while Fuze Meeting for Android was one of the first apps on Google's recently released Honeycomb platform.

In addition, the company recently disrupted the telepresence industry with the launch of its cloud-based gateway product, Fuze Telepresence Connect, which expands telepresence beyond the boardroom to any personal device and the popular iPad 2, for a fraction of the cost of traditional telepresence systems.

The company continues to see growth in sales and is expanding into Europe and Asia through partnerships, and plans to roll out a number of major distribution partners in the coming few months.
