BCS Global and XConnect Announce Partnership to Interconnect their Global Video Exchanges
August 3, 2011 | William Zimmerman
Partnership will increase the number of reachable video endpoints and end-user communities globally, accelerating adoption of video collaboration services.
London, UK (PRWEB) August 03, 2011
BCS Global Networks Limited, a leading worldwide provider of managed videoconferencing, telepresence and visual collaboration services, today announced that it has partnered with XConnect, the leader in ENUM registry and neutral interconnection federation services to interconnect their global video exchanges.
BCS Global's Public Switched Video Network (PSVN) is aimed at facilitating videoconferencing service providers and carriers to seamlessly interconnect their B2B video exchanges. XConnect's VIE is the neutral federation for exchanging video calls and conferences across networks and operators, primarily focused on enabling cross network service provider video calling.
Interconnecting BCS Global's PSVN Exchange and XConnect's VIE, is a significant step toward further resolving B2B video interoperability, directory and interconnection challenges, and will provide scalable, secure and policy-based video interconnection.
Through one connection, BCS Global's B2B customers will gain immediate multilateral interconnection with XConnect's VIE service provider customers, with full configuration, control and policy management. In turn, XConnect's customers will be able to easily access BCS Global's portfolio of VNOC managed services, 7/24 support, endpoint management, and global bridging and gateway services.
"This partnership supports our goal to build an eco-system of partners that will accelerate the adoption of B2B videoconferencing in the marketplace," said Dan Tanel, CTO of BCS Global. "Partnering with XConnect will expand the number of reachable video endpoints to BCS Global's user community, and also provide XConnect's service provider customer base with easy access to BCS Global's B2B video exchange and VNOC services," Dan Tanel added.
As part of this partnership, BCS Global is planning to integrate XConnect's ENUM based registry technology into their Global B2B video exchange. This allows for mapping of video endpoints to a global directory of IP routing addresses, enabling intelligent, and policy based routing of B2B video calls including optimized trans-coding and bridging.
"We are delighted to partner with BCS Global to extend the reach of VIE, our global neutral video federation, and further enable mass-market adoption of video calling and collaboration services," said Eli Katz, XConnect CEO. "Cross-network video services deliver huge competitive advantages, new customers and revenue streams and we aim to accelerate growth with our directory, registry and interconnect technology."
