Vu TelePresence Reaches 4% U.S. Customer Marker In Seven Months

Vu Announces Customer and Reseller Successes in Seven Months of U.S. Business Dealings
ZELIENOPLE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vu TelePresence, a Pittsburgh-based telepresence company focused on small and midsized businesses (SMBs), today announced it has expanded its customer base to four percent of the overall U.S. telepresence market. Customers attribute their adoption of Vu TelePresence to the high HD quality and low bandwidth requirements of the product, its affordability and its ease-of-use. In addition, Vu has signed 1500 customers globally, and 135 channel partners to distribute telepresence solutions to clients across the country as well as in other regions, including the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia.
Vu TelePresence's channel program was formed in April 2010 to help SMBs in their business communications endeavors. "While small and mid-market companies have historically faced Fortune 500-level IT challenges, they have lacked the resources or budgets to solve them," said Devita Saraf, chief executive officer of Vu TelePresence. "We recently conducted a survey of SMBs and found that 84.4 percent believe video conferencing is effective in building customer relationships. Because trust is a core component to business dealings and resellers serve as trusted advisors to their clients, the channel is an ideal way for Vu to extend its reach rapidly and expand sales in a more efficient manner. Vu TelePresence is working with telecom agents, managed service providers and all channels servicing SMBs to successfully address the SMB market with a professional product, technical training and sales support that meets its needs."
To date, Vu TelePresence has seen a higher unit adoption rate across particular industries, including law, healthcare, manufacturing and professional services overseas. Customers have deployed units to use for everything from employee/client management to recruiting to board meetings. While there has been great demand for Vu's technology domestically, 85 percent of customers are using the solution to connect with internal staff and/or clients worldwide.
