BrightCom Publishes 2010 - Telepresence in Review Video Series

Huntington Beach, CA, United States, 01/04/2011 - BrightCom CEO Bob McCandless discusses his views on the telepresence and video conferencing industry in 2010, details how major vendors including Cisco, Polycom, Vidyo and Skype impacted the year and makes predictions for the industry in 2011.
BrightCom, the performance leader in integrated telepresence and video conferencing announced a three part video series regarding the telepresence and video conferencing industry in 2010. CEO Bob McCandless discusses his thoughts regarding how the biggest product launches, acquisitions, and partnerships impacted the telepresence and video conferencing industry. In the third installment of the series, Mr. McCandless shares his top three predictions for the telepresence industry in 2011.

Part one of the video series asks Mr. McCandless to provide his thoughts regarding Cisco/Tandberg, Polycom and LifeSize's news and events in 2010. Mr. McCandless talks about Cisco's Telepresence Interoperability Protocol (TIP), their acquisition of Tandberg and the launch of UMI, Cisco's home telepresence device. He discusses Polycom's OTX300, their partnership with Microsoft and change in leadership. Part 1 finishes with a discussion of LifeSize and its new relationship with Logitech.

Part two of the video series discusses the software or processor based offerings of Vidyo, Radvision, Skype and BrightCom. Mr. McCandless talks about Vidyo's partnership with HP and their new level of status in 2010. He continues the interview with thoughts on Radvision's deal with Avaya and Skype's IPO and consumer based popularity. Finally, he speaks on BrightCom in 2010, discussing the announcement of the BrightCom Media Framework in the Visual Collaboration System 2.6 product launch, their partnership with Sprint 4G and their recent launch of the ClearView Desktop HD Video Conferencing offering.

The third and final video includes Mr. McCandless' top predictions for the new year, discussing industry specialization, video on mobile devices, tablet based video conferencing and wireless, high-speed 4G networks. Mr. McCandless concludes his discussion with his hopes for BrightCom to innovate its high-end conference room offerings and data sharing capabilities in 2011.
