TAMPA, Fla. - Dec. 14, 2010 - AVI-SPL, a leading provider of audio video communications solutions, today announced the grand opening of its first two Video Briefing Centers (VBCs) located in Tampa and Chicago. The Video Briefing Centers have been established to showcase the latest in telepresence and video communications solutions leveraging technology from all industry-leading manufacturers.
 
The VBCs connect to the network with the latest infrastructure from Cisco / TANDBERG, Polycom and Radvision, and enables users to experience a complete end-to-end solution, from desktop video to immersive telepresence, for each manufacturer. The VBCs are connected to the TEN Exchange, which supports business-to-business connectivity for Cisco's CTS platform as well as other H.323 based systems.
 
"It was important for us to build locations where businesses can experience firsthand our telepresence and video collaboration solutions," said Mike Brandofino, executive vice president of video and unified communications for AVI-SPL. In addition to the manufacturer-partner solutions, customers can experience AVI-SPL's Caméléon system, a first-of-its-kind multi-function custom telepresence solution designed to adapt to a customer's needs with the touch of a button. Caméléon can easily be customized to fit most existing environments and is available with codecs from industry-leaders including Cisco / TANDBERG, LifeSize and Polycom.
