MeBot telepresence robot

March 2, 2010 | Chris Payatagool

mebot.jpgThe brilliant folks over at MIT have come up with a new telepresence robot known as MeBot. This robot will display the operator's face on its screen which incidentally is a head as well, where its neck is capable of 3 degrees of freedom for simple emotional cues. A couple of tiny T-Rex arms allows it to perform non-verbal communication, but too bad there aren't enough fingers for it to flip a bird. With a mobile base, the MeBot gets around quite easily. What are some of the more practical aspects that you would use the MeBot for?
