HaiVision Wraps Up Another Year of Record Performance

January 21, 2010 | Chris Payatagool

MONTREAL and CHICAGO, Jan. 19 -- HaiVision Network Video today announced that 2009 concluded as the company's most successful year yet. Despite challenging economic conditions worldwide, the leading vendor of high-performance H.264 IP video systems realized a 67 percent increase in revenue and 284 percent increase in EBITDA based on audited fiscal 2009 results. Over the past five years, HaiVision's revenue has grown an impressive 452 percent, and the company has just finished its tenth consecutive profitable quarter.

"In sharp contrast to most industry participants, HaiVision is delivering absolutely unique technology to high growth segments. Many companies in our space would be thrilled with flat growth with breakeven performance for 2009, yet HaiVision continues to over perform and deliver tremendous results despite difficult economic conditions," said Mirko Wicha, president and CEO at HaiVision Network Video.

"In addition, the integration of the Video Furnace IP video software during 2009 has been a resounding success with this technology now becoming the cornerstone of our solutions," added Wicha.  "HaiVision has also become the leader of operating room video distribution technology in the medical market; our PIRANHA products, delivering video with metadata, have been widely deployed for military applications; and the recently released MAKITO, a compact low latency HD H.264 performance encoder, is changing the scale of  IP video deployments within all market segments."

In November, HaiVision was also named to the Deloitte 2009 "Companies-to-Watch" list, which honored Canadian technology companies that show dramatic growth, strategic development, and promising potential. The company's performance for 2009 supports this prestigious distinction, reflecting dramatic revenue growth driven by leading intellectual property.

Today HaiVision offers the only end-to-end HD H.264 IPTV platform for education, medical, enterprise, and military video-over-IP distribution systems. The Video Furnace system delivers HD H.264 IP video to both InStream (TM), the world's only "zero-footprint," cross-platform, fully encrypted client-server player, and channel guide system, and to HaiVision's STINGRAY (TM), a high-performance HD set-top box.
