BROOKLYN, NY - telx, the premier operator of Meet Me Room and Core Interconnection Colocation Facilities in the United States, has been chosen to host NANOG43, June 1-4, 2008 in New York City. NANOG, The North American Network Operators Group, is an education and operational forum for the coordination and dissemination of technical information related to backbone/enterprise networking technologies and operational practices. NANOG events are held tri-annually and attract over 450 Internet network operators, engineers; and software and hardware vendors throughout North America and around the world.

"We have always wanted to hold a meeting in New York. It is a major telecommunications hub of global network operators," commented Betty Burke, Project Manager of Merit Network Inc., the organization that coordinates NANOG meetings. "telx is a great partner to work with since their business model is about connectivity and internetworking which is what makes the Internet an accessible global tool for communications."

"telx is honored to be the host for the 43rd NANOG meeting in New York. Being the largest carrier-neutral, physical layer interconnection facility in New York, we bring together numerous global networks including many major IP backbones and this unique vantage has given us the opportunity to also bring together the decision makers behind those networks," stated Hunter Newby, Chief Strategy Officer of telx.

"The NANOG meeting is the best networking forum in the United States to reach the entire Internet community and our core beliefs in solving interconnection problems fit perfectly with the event's underlying purpose of bringing the community together. We are very excited that this will be the first time NANOG has ever been hosted in New York which is an accomplishment we have aspired to achieve for many years. telx looks forward to greeting everyone and providing an excellent meeting for all participants," added Tesh Durvasula, Chief Marketing Officer of telx.

The final agenda and venue are still in development, however based on the success of NANOG41 recently held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and considering this event's location in New York, expectations are high for one of the largest events in NANOG history.
